Hi guys,
I have a big problem with my Medion Erazer X6819 (MS-16F2 barebone).
I upgraded the RAM to 4x4 GB Kingston HyperX Impact 1600 MHz 1.35V.
I have a unlocked BIOS on my barebone. I set the RAM to 1866 MHz and unfortunately I also enabled XMP profile 2.
I saved my settings and tried to reboot but the laptop doesn't POST. Just a black screen.
I tried to clear CMOS by removing the cable from the motherboard. But I didn't work.
A few days ago I resetted the BIOS by this way but now no chance. Still no POST.
Does someone have a idea what I could try?
Thanks.

From MSI (MS-16F2-ID1) seems that you are way off:
• SO-DIMM slots x 4 for DDR3 1333/1066 MHz if the CPU is four cores
(2 slots on the motherboard front side and 2 slots on the rear side)
• SO-DIMM slots x 2 for DDR3 1333/1066 MHz if the CPU is dual cores
• Maximum 16GB (Up to 4GB each slot)
I suppose 1600 MHz 1.5V could work. -
Yes, 1600 MHz at 1.5 V did work but now I can't get into the BIOS to set anything. It doesn't POST.

Not even when using the RAM you had in the system prior to the Kingston HyperX? -
No not even with the old RAM. No POST. Today I did a test after about 18 hours without the BIOS battery. But it didn't change. After pulling the battery cable the laptop does kind of a reset: it starts and turns off 1 sec after. After that it starts again with a black screen.

Did you pull both CMOS battery and the actual battery? -
Yes I pulled both of them.

Not sure of what else you can do. If it's not a firmware issue that's easy to rectify, you may be looking at the mainboard needing reworked or replaced.

Try removing all of the memory modules first, then install just one DIMM.
Otherwise, it looks like you will have to contact MSI directly to get the unit serviced instead. -
I already tried that and now again. But it's the same. I will send it in because I can't find a board.
MS-16F2 doesn't POST after 1866 MHz RAM setting
