I thought the MSI slots were mini pcie slots anyway? And even without the screw it should be secure enough (unless your rallying around your machine?) :p

Correct the MSI is using mini pci-e slots, but what i mean is that i don't no if the half size can be screwed on to the lock for the screw.
I know the full size is screwed and fitted perfectly.

from what ive seen on the other threads no, and apparently these in some cases cause bsods and a general decrease in performance, im tempted to grab one just to try it out, however i think the key factor is finding one with a good i/o rate, if its slower than your hard drive, then thats an issue, however there are possible gains to be had, for example storing your pagefile on it, oh the possibilities...

OK, recently I've decided to buy SSD (this one) for my notebook and I was looking for info does our notebooks support it. I found this thread but seams that no one tested it? So I see that it's an old thread. Is there any updates? I mean some of you tried to put an SSD on the 3rd mini PCI-e slot?

Well 3 miniPCIe ports + an express card slot may mean you can get a 4x PCIe link.

So that would make the DIYvidock something to look into.

    @ moral hazard
This is interesting info provided at that link, but I don't really need that. I wanted to put Mini PCI-e SSD on that 3rd slot and to use it only to install the operating system on it. Thanks anyway.
