So the power port on my MSI-1057 wasn't working properly, so I RMA'd it and got it back, and now it works. Only the laptop won't boot. I reinstalled all the components and checked them twice; when I boot up the power light comes on, and the cpu light stays solid for like 10 seconds or so then goes off, the harddrive spins, and the cpu fan spins for like half a second then stops. The screen does not come on at all. The computer will stay on with a solid power light indefinitely though. These components worked before with the computer, but they're not working now. The only thing I can think of that might cause this is some of the thermal paste/stickers on the cpu and heatsink have worn away. Can someone suggest a solution? If I can't fix this I'm willing to sell the laptop for like 600, because I'm tired of MSI, if you're interested let me know, it's absolutely maxed out on everything but the processor.

Sounds like you have either one or two things going on.
As you said if the thermal pads are not contacting the gpu, the the tape/paste is not contacting the cpu you will receive this exact result.
Also memory will cause the same issue, either not seated or not compatible. Check the memory install in the slots and reseat it.
