If they do this, I will most likely go for it.

It caught my attention as soon as I saw it on some CES article. It looks to be a 15" version of the GS70. It's reported to be just slightly over 3 pounds which is damn amazing if true. If the battery life is at least up to 8 hours, this could be the best thin gaming laptop.

I doubt this laptop will be released soon. Hopefully, MSI will release it soon. Otherwise, their competitors might sooner capitalize on this market. Razer just needs to upgrade the display on their Razer Blade 14" and Gigabye just needs to upgrade the battery life on the P34G.

that is a beauty, the slimness of it and if it will be metal chassis, long battery life, well... many will be tempted with great ultra-portable laptop :) judging the price will be set right

The GS70 is a nice unit, so I imagine that as long as MSI keeps true to similar build quality and design (and then some, hopefully) with this, we'll be seeing a very snazzy and viable alternative from them. :)

That does look nice. As long as they can put a decent GPU and keep it cool it will be a popular model I bet.

off centered kb with a botched numpad

otherwise this notebook with the same internals as the gs70 should be great

Ugh, I wish they would remove the words "Gaming G Series" on that logo. I'm fine with the MSi logo and the picture of the dragon but...argh, it just feels childish using a laptop that says Gaming Series on it.

Everything else on it looks perfect.

This looks great, love these new thinner and lighter gaming laptops, now if they only work as good as they look MSI has aanother winner.

I was seriously considering picking up a GS70 now that I'm done with school and hopefully to start a "grown up" job lol. But, I would prefer a 15" version and if it's as good as the GS70 this might be the way to go for more portability. I really do like the 14" Razer blade, but I don't like the price for the specs. Although most people seem to be overwhelmingly positive about the Blade. Just have to wait and see.

Both are designed to be pretty portable. If portability really matters, get an ultrabook or a tablet. ;)

15.4" screen means the shower ratio might be 16:10 right?

Have you looked into GE40? However, this chassis runs slightly hotter due to compact chassis.

We haven't seen 16:10 notebook screens in over to 3+yrs. I wish they would make them though, I use that ratio on my desktop monitors and do prefer it over the 16:9 I use for work monitors.

I did look at it initially, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of the 17.3" screen. I have dual 24" monitors at home and going now to my 15.6" laptop can be a bit of a strain sometimes. With all the reports of a new smaller Stealth being released, I might try to get this year's Stealth on sale if they drop the price, or wait until the new systems come out in a few months and do my deciding then.

A lot of gamers like the 17" idea since it's so thin and carries enough horsepower to do what you need to do.
Or 16" may serve you just fine if you minded the extra inch but there aren't many 16" models out there.

Y50 is ok but a good 770m/780m machine will always be far better at gaming.

Perhaps I'm misreading your post but my guess is the Y50 and GS60 will have comparable GPUs and neither of which will be a 770m or 780m.

You know I must have thought I was in a different thread, but regardless the 765M or the new 860M is a better choice over the 750 or 750sli.

The Y50 will have an option for 860M no one knows what the GS60 has but your probably right at guessing it will probably be the same. Those laptops will have an 800M series and not "last" gen GPU's.

Even 800 series GPU is not out yet, rumors April, could be a couple more months to have laptops with them on the market.
