    MSI GS70 2OD-229US Intel Core i7 12GB Memory 17.3" Notebook - Newegg.com

What is (if any) the general consensus on this Newegg deal? Has anyone gone ahead and purchased it? How is the GS70 with those specs? How is the TV? Etc.

I'd personally like to have better specs in my laptop, but if the MS70 is upgradable and the TV is better than decent, I'm considering just killing two birds with one stone and hitting this deal.

    Any thoughts? Suggestions? Reviews? etc.

The TV is going for 449 now on Newegg and I've seen it down to 399 before. Has 4/5 eggs with almost 70% 5 eggs so it seems to be decent (I personally have no experience with it). That being said, you could look at it as paying 1,100 for the laptop and 449 for the TV. Newegg has ran this promo in the past for the same price and it seems to be a pretty good deal.

edit - price has dropped on the TV down to 399 as mentioned as of 3/24 8:00pm.. just an fyi.

I bought the same deal around Christmas time. I'm glad I did. But I sold the TV for $350, I think it was. So I don't know how it is. But I wish I kept it.

The laptop is great. But you have the new ones with the 800series out very soon. So you just need to weigh out the pros and cons to yourself of...
    The 765 and the TV.
Or full price and the 800 series..

Also you can upgrade the RAM as well if you aren't afraid to take out some screws

I'd wait for the new 800 series GS70s to come out or the GS60. If you have a TV already, then stick with that. If you don't have a TV, don't see why you need one now. It's better to get ONE item that absolutely satisfies your needs rather than getting TWO items you might regret later on.
