    Hello all

I've been reading the forums for a while but haven't posted until now. The forum helped me a lot when I was buying my MSI GS70 a couple of years ago.

Now I have a issue with the laptop and was hoping you can help me out. The plastic on the lid that the left hinge is screwed in has broken off and the the screen is wobbly now. The hinge is fine but is no longer attached to the lid. I moved from the USA (where i bought it) to UK and unfortunately warranty no longer applies and it will be very expensive to send it back to the USA for repairs.

I contacted a local repair shop and they quoted me a price to replace the lid (including sourcing the part and labor). It seems like it is only the plastic cover that is broken and I was hoping that perhaps if I can source the part myself I can save a little money and install it myself. I've done quite a thorough google search for the part. Found a few websites that sell MSI parts and contacted them, but unfortunately I couldn't find the part.
It appears to be quite rare or too old now, so nobody sells it anymore. I contacted the local UK MSI repair center but they said they cannot do any repairs outside of the warranty.

This is the information I used in my search:
    MSI GS70 2OD-229US RT
    M1771
    LCD Cover PN 307-771A412-CG0

Any info on a place I can buy this part from or anybody who might be selling it would be of great help!
I've already tried ebay - both American and British one as well as a few other European ones.

I am attaching a photo of the broken piece and of the lid that i am looking for. Hopefully somebody here can point me out in the right direction.

Sad that no one replied at the time.
    And that's even sadder. :(

That's even better, however the UK office should have offered a non-warranty repair service instead of pushing you away. That's a bad service there.

I stumbled across this topic while I was googling my old laptop model. It didn't have any answers at the time so I must have forgotten about it.
Anyway, Tom Du, I'm glad you manage to find a replacement lid.

I bought a new laptop now, but at the time my father fixed the lid with very tiny screws. I've used it for about another year and a half with the same hinge and it is even sturdier than before. It's quite the marvel. :)
