Ok, it seems like (to me at least) this issue is not really sticking well with everyone but it's a big issue for me. I would like to get my money's worth out of the system I buy so therefore I am really stuck on this pressing yet seemingly retarded issue. Has MSI configured this lappy to utilize it's eco and turbo features only for a 32b OS?? If so, can the features be run on a 64b os with or without modifying settings without causing any mayhem??

MAJOR KUDOS to anyone who can help!![]()
on a lesser important matter... does MSI use any good quality thermal compound to cool or the standard thermal goop? Not really a big issue as I can just apply the good stuff myself but could save me the sweat if confirmed they use the good stuff.![]()

I run eco just fine in vista 64-bit.

guys if you get the system with 32 bit you do not need to buy 64bit.
the lic key is good for both. all you need to do is get a 64bit disc to install it with then use the lic key on the bottom of your notebook. if it doesnt take it during install choose to install the os without any key at all. then after that you will have the option in the system area in control panel to change the lic key. that is where you will enter the one off the laptop. if it tells you its not valid you simply have to call it in as a phone activation it will work just fine.
the only drawback is the features that will not work right due to them not running under 64bit windows -
Hey Nytebane, here are some quotes/answers from TRF after the Vista 64 install. Good Luck!

Haha... Nytebane might be letting us know soon. I'm waiting for my GX620 delivery from UPS sometime next week with Vista OS 64 already installed.
First time user with the 64 OS, be a new experience with possible compatibility issues, do welcome that all 4 megs of system ram can be utilized.
Ops the link was gx620 downloads, here is the link for the GT-627

Off topic here, I use Norton Internet Security 2009 and can download the latest demo version of NIS, use you old license key for a free up-grade, does not add to your subscription time. Can pick-up un-used key, example NIS 2007, then get a free up-grade to NIS 2009. -
@Galileo777 .... you are a godsend and thank you very much for that info... Hey, where did you find that thread?? I would like to know if the Dolby issue has been resolved as well...I should have done some research and searching but after 1000 google searches my head started to hurt=) Looks like i'll be getting this with 64b vista... however I think I'll go with the 32b pre-install and reinstall with a 64b disk with the same cd-key.
Thank you everyone for your input!!
P.S. Anyone think there will be a presidents day sale of any sorts??? hopefully can catch a sale on this would be even more awsome lol! I doubt it though. -
yes nortons 2006 and up all can be upgraded to 2009 for free
