does this Q9000/9800m gts with the 1680 x 1050 res screen have a good screen?
iv read reviews for the gt627 and most of them say that the screen is quite crap, now as i will use it quite a lot for movies, is it anygood?

The optimal vertical view angle is very narrow, but I think the biggest problem is that the default settings are crap. I have set the brightness to +40%, contrast to +60% and gamma to +30%. It is okay now, but still not great. It is good for gaming but I have not tested any movies yet (just received it last weekend).

how does it compare to the screen on the gt725
also, do msi only use 1 model for the gt627 screen? -
To be frank I am photographer so I am pretty a**l about it and the default settings are rubbish. There is some colour shift along the vertical but actually in general the viewing angles are very good - no dramatic inversion of colours etc. After adjusting the settings to my suggested values, the colours are neutral and not too pale, flesh tones are good. It is not a bad screen at all, but if you really want quality than buy a separate screen since most laptops screen will not be perfect (they all tend to be TN panels).
By the way it has a 9800M GS and not GTS.
