probably around the same price as the GX660R was, why aren't they including dual hard drives? We know the chassis supports it. Can that chipset do RAID 0?

Looks sweet.
6870 is that more powerful than say the 5870 in terms of quality ? -

@AsusS, I hope so. -

I understand yes i was just getting mixed up however i just saw another thread saying ATI or AMD .... have now done some kind of gimmick the 6870 is just as the 5770 ? im completely mixed up at this point.
Desktop users have reported a down crease in FPS to there 6870 to lets say there 5870 that completely out performs it .... i hope this is certainly untrue.
And thanks for the replys. -
Desktop and Mobile nomenclatures are completely different.
On the Desktop: HD5870 > HD6870 (The HD6890 will soon arrive)
On the Mobile Platform: HD5870M == HD5770 Desktop Core. -
6870m most likely identical to 5870m imo.
The roadmap is misleading, the 5700 segment has never been about enthusiast GPUs (especially since the only model that got through the 5000m series announcement was the 5730). Since there are plans for both a 6870m and a 6970m, I think we have to look forward to the 6970m for something new. -
Awesome thanks guys that's mostly cleared it up for me

You can find his posts in the Gaming/Gaming Cards section of the forums. I think he has a whole thread going on about the HD 6000-series, both desktop and mobile.
From what I understand - The Mobile 6870 will essentially have the same performance as a mobile 5870 (current) just be optimized for use with the Intel QM-chipset.
That said, I believe that AMD is going to release a 6970 (mobile) at some point that will have about a 15% increase over the 5870.
That's what I gleaned on a quick-reading. -
For the HD6000 series (desktop and mobile) the hundreds digit in the model numbers doesn't represent the same standing that it did with the HD5000 series....essentially the HD6800 family replaces the HD5700 and that's why the desktop HD6870 is slower than the desktop HD5870 (by about 7%). The top performing single GPU card in the HD6000 series will be the desktop HD6970 (based on the Cayman GPU) and should be released in the next couple of weeks. AMD will also put two Cayman GPUs on a single card called the HD6990 to replace the HD5970.
Cayman will be a new architecture but it almost assuredly won't be used for mobile cards until the die shrink to 28nm in 2012. Mobile HD6970M should be based off one of the Barts GPUs that were used in desktop HD6870. The HD6970M could see some real nice gains over Mob. HD5870. -
Is there news on any competitors to these 2 models, packing both gaming capability and SB's IGP?

Here's hoping for another 14.5" 1600x900 (or higher) gaming notebook. -
