Good stuff, hopefully we can see a 570m option soon in the barebones version, the Force 16F2. That would most likely
be my next laptop! I want to get a laptop before a trip in early September. :)

Also, it would be nice if all resellers could let you scale back the components to save money, such as no hard drives and ram if I
want to provide my own, etc.

    I am liking the MSI GT780DX-215US from XOTIC. i7-2630QM, GTX 570m, AC5 compound, 8gb ram, 500gb 7200rpm HD.... Less than $1532 shipped!

Great bang for your buck gaming lappy!

Nice, hopefully someone can chime in if the 570m will also be soon available in the Force 16F2? Sounds like a no-brainer since its the same chassis as the GT683DXR-423US, but without the bling and savings to boot!

MSI says there is no plan as of yet for the MS-16F2 to have the 570M. The new 17" barebone due late september will have the 570M

It is supposed to be based on the GT780 chassis. Don't have any detailed info yet.

Well that's disappointing to hear. Hopefully we can get the GTX 570m in the 16F2, with some savings over the GT683 due to a simpler chassis, and I'd buy it for sure!

Strange its planned for a barebone 17" model but not their current 15" model.

It is in their current 16" you mean, that is what this thread is about.

Its not that surprising if you look at the past 15" and 17" models. The savings also would be due to not have a CPU and other parts.

With any luck, some system builders will be willing to sell custom ms-16f2 units with the 570m.

I believe the model # is going to be the 1722, sorry trying to remember from a past conference call from MSI. We should have specs and release info later in August. :)

Can you buy the video card separately to upgrade, say a GX680?

Yes, but you need single card (probably 450-500$) + PSU (~100$). Dunno it is the best idea.

Yea, would probably be a better idea to go with a 6970m if upgrading yourself.
