I don't know why but my laptop stops charging when I'm playing games like far cry and cod but when I turn off the charger and turn it on again, it charges but turns off again after 20 mins. Even the power light on the charger is off when this thing happen. I just got this laptop like 2 weeks and it's really annoying. I hope it's nothing to do with the motherboard.. hope someone could help..

Have you tried taking the battery out, disconnect AC adapter and perform EC reset? Then reconnect everything and verify whether it works or not.

It's possible, so just do EC reset since GT72 uses integrated battery.
If problem persists then contact MSI directly for warranty service.

It sounds like a faulty charger to me, I would contact your reseller.

Yeah, definitely sounds like the PSU can't output enough power and it is dying on you when doing demanding things.

Either that, or a bad power board.

If it was shorting/internal I would expect the machine to shut off entirely.

Sometimes a power board can be half alive and acts very weirdly.

Weird, but it could be caused by a glitch within the OS or some settings. Glad that it's resolved.
