You purchased the laptop last March 30, 2017 from HID but MSI PH said that the unit was purchased Oct 2016? That is kinda sketchy but I will still open a ticket with HIDevolution.

Did you registered your MSI notebook already? https://register.msi.com/home

Within the first week of receiving the laptop, you register it and get an extended 3 months warranty.

Oh I see, but I purchased it March this year? shouldn't the 1 year global warranty start from the date of purchase? could it mean it was a refurbished unit since I got it on sale? since according MSIs system it was last purchased Oct 2016? just want to have expert insights and I'm just clarifying info. I appreciate the reply.

Grabe yun bro, anyway, same lang warranty ko sayo, however, kinuha ko siya March this year pero nakaregister sa system daw nila na Oct 2016 siya nakuha. kaya di nacover nang global. malamang, hindi naman pinopost sa website nang hid yung serial number saka date of purchase nang laptops di ba? since pagbinili mo dun dapat bago, kinaclarify ko lang

I don't think that HIDevolution sells refurbished notebooks, even it was on sale, it's brand new and factory sealed. The serial number is private and only visible underneath the laptop, HIDevolution will not post any of that private information online.

I see. I was not able to register the laptop after receiving it since I was not aware of that extended warranty. But still, if that's the case, it should've been covered up until now right?

*Currently figuring out my case with MSI PH*

Update: The'yre going to call MSI Taiwan for the legitimacy of the reseller(we all know the answer to that). Oct 2016 was my laptops manufactured date and as per technician it might have been released for selling dec 2016 onwards. I'll be updating this tomorrow.

It was the same when I call MSI PH for a replacement of the 330W power brick, they have to confirm if HID is a certified MSI reseller. After a few days they called me back (probably confirmed that HID is a cert. reseller), asked me to send them the power brick but I didn't because I found out that ants have taken shelter inside and have short circuited everything, that is environmental damage and is not covered with warranty.

How do ants get inside a power supply?

They must have gotten there when I was not using the computer. Getting inside is not impossible, if you take a look, there is a small hole in the AC adapter.

haha that's why i make sure my powerbrick is at the same level of the lappy and it is also possible for them to go inside the laptop, even small cockroaches, see the small exhausts of your laptop @Falkentyne? small baby cockroaches could still go inside them haha thats why i dont eat near my laptop -_-.

as for the repair, they told me to call again tomorrow.

I just checked my Delta 330W PSU.
There are NO holes anywhere. Not even microscopic.
What laptop are you talking about here? Surely your 330W PSU isn't the same one I have.
Its impossible. There are NO holes anywhere.

    US warranty page:
    https://us.msi.com/page/warranty/
At the bottom of table it says 1-year global.
    upload_2017-11-27_19-27-16.png

You will have to assess the cost of following options, but option 1 may be your best bet right now.
    1. Find out how much does it cost to have it repaired locally, DC jack repair or PCB replacement, plus any shipping costs (if applicable).
    2. Find out how much does it cost to have the unit shipped internationally to US (either reseller or relative/friend), return shipping from US, and shipping cost to MSI from your US contact (MSI covers return shipping to US address), plus any potential repair costs if MSI does not agree with the issue (nobody knows until MSI has your system and will have inspected it).

Appreciate this Kevin, I got your point. Thanks.

I was talking about the laptop exhausts @Falkentyne, but yeah good thing our bricks don't have holes. I apologize if I got you confused lol

All I know is that ants corroded the internals. I'm talking about the GT80S Titan 273, it's got the same 330W power bricks like any other MSI or Clevo notebooks.

    Update!

So MSI PH was able to change my Motherboard, I got it from them yesterday, any tests I should do? and when I check my MSI help-desk my GT73VR-6RE is now a 6RF? Thoughts? @Falkentyne

Ill be doing some research with regards to the Motherboard and why it short circuited since I dont want that to happen again after posting this.

    Thanks for the replies!

    6RE means GTX 1070
    6RF means GTX 1080.
What video card is in there?

You can also open RW Everything, go to EC and check the value of EC RAM offset "E3".
    10 should be GTX 1070
    11 should be 1080

    (For kaby lake, 90=GTX 1070, 91=gtx 1080).

    Check bios.
If it says 6RF, it probably had SMBus(?) data written as 6RF because a 1080 was previously installed on that mainboard. They use the same board (but different heatsink).
