I'm looking to replace my current laptop battery since it's acting like a spastic 7 year old on crack. I want to replace it with a 9 cell. The MSI store's 9 cell is a 7200mAh but when I google msi gx620 9 cell I get a flood of 7800mAh. Will a 7800 work in my laptop/will it damage it?

No its lower voltage. You might not be able to game on battery.

So should I get the 7800 or the 7200? Currently I have a 6-cell 4800mAh battery if that makes a difference. Thanks for the reply :)

I don't think it will make too much of a difference, those batteries aren't that great. If anything I would get one to replace the cells.
For the gx620 you probably wont have too many issues gaming on a lower voltage battery, although thats not a good idea in the first place. I have a clevo m860tu that basically will stay powered on unplugged if you look at something still in mass effect 2 but shuts off as soon as you move. but as long as you dont upgrade your graphics to something more than 30w you're probably fine.
