So how would I go about having the laptop resume from sleep(when opening the lid) without me having to press the power button? I know some laptops do this, is it possible with the gx640?

Unfortunately this is hardware specific. Some notebooks like Dell, Thinkpads and Toughbooks do wake up on opening the lid, ours doesnt.

Its not much of an effort to press a button, is it ? ;)
