WARNING!!! DO NOT attempt to install hotfix driver 398.46!!!! It made my windows unbootable. I wish I knew how to fix it before I did a reset. If you happened to be in the same place I was 3 hours ago (unbootable, restore points not working, safe mode not working, sfc check not working, issue persisting through windows reset with keeping files.... you can imagine my despair) Send me a PM and I will tell you how to fix your windows without the need to reset or do anything of the sort (I wish I knew before).

    Thanks for testing +rep added.
Its good thing Falkentyne was there to fix the issue. I read your post in GFE forums.
One more thing, system restore is buggy on 1803 and I disabled in favor of more space and performance. If you turn it off, make sure Macrium reflect Image backups are made every week!
I clean installed W10 couple of weeks ago.

as usual, those clowns will never stop this BS. They did this two times in a row now for the same app (MSI True Color) just to make us think they are posting updates when they're not.

Better compatibility with Nahimic where previous versions sometimes did not change any effects when you change an audio profile like Music, Video, Gaming, etc from Nahimic.

This is a freakin' Audio Driver not an Antivirus to have security issues

Security issue will be something like these: Buffer overflow when you change default sampling rate from 16 bit to 24/32bit higher hertz thing. Or too much apps asking exclusive access to audio chip etc...
Even Intel driver mentioned security issues fixed and so did nvidia with their updated nvHDA.inf and inctaud.inf(intel hd audio hdmi passthrough audio on optimus systems).

First off, thank you so much for this thread. I spent the past week or so on the MSI forums trying to get an explanation on why I was missing options on my track pad settings. No one seemed to get what I was asking until I was finally pointed here.

I downloaded the latest drivers for the synaptic touchpad and tried installing it using SynMsi_v19005.31001.0.0_x64, but I'm getting the following error:

Should I be installing them a different way?

    Thanks!

First thing you need to do when you download anything from the internet is to right click on the file or the zip file, go to properties, then tick the UNBLOCK box on the bottom right then hit APPLY then OK otherwise all the files within that ZIP will also have a BLOCKED status leading to erroneous downloads.

Weird I've never to do anything like this with drivers before. I went ahead and did what you recommended, but I'm still getting the same error when I run SynMsi_v19005.31001.0.0_x64.

Hi, i got the GT75VR 7RF today for a very cheap price. 7820HK, 64GB RAM, 4K display, 1TB SSD and 1TB HDD ( but will use mine instead). i liked the keyboard and the sound quality more than my GT73VR but i did not like the 4K display. any help to replace it with the 120 Hz/3ms screen?. or i return it back and keep the GT73VR?. thank you

You would have to buy the 120hz 3ms screen and the proper EDP cable and install the screen yourself. As long as it is 100% the proper revision and model, it will work. All of the MSI GT75 laptops use the same Bios and EC firmware, so it has to be whitelisted even if a different SKU model is installed.

I honestly don't think the gt75vr offers more than decently specced gt73vr. Yeah sure mechanical per key rgb is nice but not worth it imo especially since your gt73vr from signature is already specced almost the same. I'd say just wait and save up for the next gen gpu if you want an upgrade.

i change the display of my GT75VR 7RF i had the 4K display.
i use the 120Hz/3ms display of the GE73VR 7RF from my sister and it is working absolutly fine.
and the best of all my sis had no g-sync reagarding nvidia optimus and when i start my gt75vr g-sync was working out of the box. cable change was not needed.

i have the CMN1747 now in my GT75VR befor it was an AUOXXX.

When you remove the bezel take your time and do it slowly. it is not very diffycult.
i have the best experience when i push the bezel at the camera a little to get my finger nail under it. the finger nail is on the display at this moment.
then pull it slowly away from the display there is a thin line of double-sided adhesive tape around the bezel above, left and right.
the down side at least there you can use your finger to remove it carefully. when you do it you will see a black or other colored plastic protection film be sure that your finger is between the film and the
double-sided adhesive tape so you have the best chance to remove the bezel with the double-sided adhesive tape (less work later) and the protection film will be fit back to the display to save the electronical parts.

If some of the double-sided adhesive tape will be lost you can use some thin double-sided adhesive tape to renew it.

Well... it seems the gt75vr has the same gpu, the same cpu, same amount of ram, the ssd's you can transfer... No one can tell you if the keyboard/speakers are worth the money you spent (though I think the speakers should be hw-wise the same). I think you should ask yourself that as no one knows your financial circumstances better than you... plus no one else can tell just how much more you like the gt75vr which is also important, only you know how you feel about it and if it's worth it ^^
I mean... would you replace the 850 evo for a 860 evo of the same size only because it's newer, and never use the 850 again? Seems like a waste.

Even tough I am using the Realtek Audio Driver v6.0.1.8468, yet again, the Nahimic Profiles/effects aren't doing anything, they sound the same. Sick and tired of this Nahimic not working BS, it was much more stable when Nahimic wasn't a Windows Garbage Store app.

with my GT75VR 7RF it is working fine latest version from Nahimic 3.
But i have atm an GS65 Stealth Thin 8RF here for some test reason and there it is the same Nahimic is doing nothing.
And issues with true color and the DC 2.
i contact MSI Germany yesterday about this topic maybe i can get some information to share.
Maybe this is an issue which is related to 8th gen devices only?

Ok so far only bro @Phoenix and i have this issue?
MSI has no information about this. I should check some things like reset and maybe later an clean install (as phoenix has it done) if the reset is not working.

    but first at all [IMG]

Windows 10 Reset did it. Everything is working now as it should be.

My nahimic only applies effects to stuff like windows media player, not firefox etc... it's annoying. Anyway I find nahimic sounding muddy in the gt75 (especially just the general effect which applies to firefox too), I actually like it without nahimic better haha. Gief me pure equalizer realtek and all will be good in the world. Atm I don't mind much as I just use my 2.1 120W trust speakers at home and a nice usb headset otherwise.

The thing bro is, without Nahimic, the audio is very low and doesn't have any depth so I was forced to do this. They kinda like hand cuffed me, you either stop disabling our crap or you can't enjoy your taptop
