WHOOPS! Sorry folks!
Not only did I mess up the spelling in the thread's title, it's also misleading. No need to 'pre-order', because the barebones units are AVAILABLE NOW!

I thought the 15.6" was supposed to have the backlit keyboard...
-
There is no GTX675M option.. so as I see it, and the GTX580M is more powerful than the GTX670M.. The earlier model is still the better option. Till Ivy Bridge and GTX680M comes, that is.

Why no GTX 675 option???

SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
I was talking with Ken, and he thinks that if the 16F3 does not have a native backlit keyboard, a keyboard from the GT60 should work just fine (though he needs to test first). I also heard rumblings that a 675m variant might be coming soon, but nothing concrete.
They're sexy looking laptops, in any case. -

Im hoping for that with the barebones and branded models. Hopefully the new graphics and processors coming out and available on newer models drop the older ones a solid amount.

£2300 for the top model, that's $3640 for the curious. -
My word... Talk about a rip off.

What are the chances the Radeon HD 7970M will run on this?
Thanks! -

So the new barebones feature 1,5Gb of vRam instead of 3Gb like in MSI GT70/60 models? Also the MSI laptops have killer 2200 gigabit ethernet, same for barebones?

Do any of the resellers know if the 16F3's motherboard will fit in the the 16F2?
The chassis look to be the same. -

So the 16F3 barebone has the connector?
-
If they do I would jump on one quick, in this day and age there is no good excuse for laptops not having a backlit keyboard, especially gaming laptops.
At least have a option for it. -
And is the eSATA port now a USB+eSATA combo port?
Are you allowed to post the 16F3's BIOS yet? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I don't think it uses optimus, retail or barebone.
-
GenTech's product page for the GT60 says it has Optimus, and a review for the 16F3 says it has 7 hours and 32 minutes of battery life.
At least I think that's what the review says:
One Gaming Notebook M56-2N: Tests, Technische Daten, Erfahrungsberichte / M562N_test
If the new motherboard brings Ivy Bridge support, longer battery life, and the combo port; I won't be able to resist upgrading.
The backlit keyboard support is nice, but I'm not really interested in it. -
No the eSATA port is not a combo port and I am not allow to post BIOS, sorry.Attached Files:

MSI Global ? Notebook - GT60
MSI Global ? Notebook - GT70
Could it be a typo? -
"The Specification may change without notice. The actual products sold are different from areas. Please check the detailed Specification with your local dealers. "
So, it may be that features may change before official release. -
Hopefully the combo port will be one of the features they include with the official release. -

Benchmark results for a Ivy Bridge Core i7-3820QM compared to a Sandy Bridge i7-2960XM in the same laptop.
Ivy Bridge i7-3820QM Performance
In conclusion, the Ivy Bridge processor outperforms the Sandy Bridge processor under test in every test (as one would expect with a new generation chip using a smaller manufacturing process). The average improvement in the CPU speed is approx 9%. For the integrated GPU, the performance benefit with Ivy Bridge varied between 32% and 108%, depending on what test was performed. Neither processor had a graphics score which is close to the performance that might be needed by many gamers, as shown by the 3DMark Vantage score using the GTX 570M. However, the improvement over the previous generation is enough to indicate that Intel are not standing still in that area, given the improvement of over 100% in some tests.
i7-3820QM is among the Ivy Bridge processors expected at the end of April. -

Hi can any one tell me of the backlight for the keyboard should work standard or do you need to upgrade or what, because i replaced my HDD for a SSD in my GT60 ms-16f3 but everything is working except for the ledlights in the keyboard.
Or is there software to make this work i been searching in google but did not find anything with proper info about it.
Maybe there are more with the same issue then i like to know please.
UPDATE
Opened the back of the computer and found out this keyboard has no connector for backlight on the keyboard so now i need to find a shop in europe who is selling this. -
Eh guys.. Has anyone here tried the gtx980/970m with their GT60 (16F3) with an updated 51x bios? Still searching on the web who have done it though... Thanks
