    Hi everyone.

I'm actually doing this favor for a friend. The needle thing on her laptop's power jack apparently slid into the notebook, and she's asking if it could be fixed by opening up her laptop or something.

She's also asked if she could just grab a replacement part and have it repaired by someone else *ahem* instead of sending it for repair. Is this easily doable or are there gonna be soldering involved? I am quite knowledgable with innards of Acer's laptops, and know by heart that they have ac/dc boards that can be easily switchable, but with MSI, am not so sure..any fingers in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks!

Usually you need to get a spare dc jack unsolder and re solder the new part.
