Yeah, it sucks but what can you do. Unless MSI will send you a new sticker, you're boned. The sticker is almost impossible to remove intact. It looks solid enough, but as soon as you try to peel it off, even with heat, steam or whatever, it just disentegrates.

any more news regarding this? .. I keep reading contradictory information about wether this will void the warranty or not (I'm in the US).

I haven't been able to find an e-mail contact for MSI or a way via their web page to contact them and there's no info on their web pages.

Hi, unfortunately, just two days ago MSI seemed to say just the opposite, hence my query here.

Please see this posting of mine:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=322495

"e-mail contact for MSI in US?"

    the important part being:

    ---------- MSI response --------------------

Break Stickers WILL void your warranty.

Please consult with local subsidiary/distributor to get RAM update

I just got off the phone with tech support. Breaking the seal to add ram will not void the warranty. If you damage the unit while trying to add ram or tinker with anything else, that will void the warranty. Hope this helps.

Hi - thanks for sharing this information.

It would really be nice if they posted this information somewhere on their web pages or FAQ. I've heard so many contradictory things, it's hard to know what to believe (see a few messages up what MSI sent me 3 days ago).

In any case, I think I will go ahead and break the seal and install the additional GB of RAM since I haven't been able to get any sort of definitive answer.

    Cheers!

I don't understand why they would even have anything like this. Warranty issues like this is a Con when waying this to an Asus netbook.
