probably shouldn't link like this, but someone hurry up and import this

Shark do you think the amd dual turion will be able to run at 2 diferent frequencies? The picture show them running at the same....
Wow, the web cam showing in one of the pics look great, that´s exactly what i want! -
It's great to be teased with seeing whats out there
-
from the X2 desktop cpus, I think there is a problem running at different frequencies and the cores communicating, so i would assume the same is true on the Turion X2s.
I'm wondering more about how they will incorporate power-saving features on those laptops.
edit: recent reports are that the X2 can powerstep the dual cores independently, but i haven't seen anything official yet. -
It's a soccer field painted on top of the lid, I believe due to the upcoming "WM 2006" here in germany.
-
ohh, boy. now I don't want the S270 anymore
-
the upcoming-model tease always does that to you. but the alternate is the torture waiting...and waiting....and waiting....for the new models to come out.
-
Anyone know anything about the solar panels?
Can they be installed on any laptop?
Do they add alot of weight?
When, where, and how much can I buy them for? -
right now, solar panels are still in research mode.
the fuel cells are much closer to manufacturing release than solar.

Nothing new here, just an official MSI blurb:

Powered by Intel® 's newly announced next-generation dual-core Centrino® which has the integration of brand-new electric power and wireless network technology. As a result of its full specification integrity, there's no need to worry about compatibility issues, simply relax and enjoy the amazing benefits of MSI S262. -
Spud, I looked into "Solar battery chargers" about 6 months ago and depending on the features you want, like as portable as your laptop, it would have cost about $1500 dollars to run an average laptop all day in bright sun light. (disregarding any sun light on screen issues.)
Something new, Voltaic Systems Solar Computer Pouch, (google search should pay off) will provide enough power from a full summer day in the sun to fully charge your laptop once. The nice part here is it has its own battery and so you could prop it in a good place and let it charge up. For the low low price of $230.
*I am not an EE so every thing is suspect. -
any official blurbs on the s420? I like marketing babble.
-
Cofeee, did you read the 2nd page of the article abaxter posted today?
It says (if the google translation is accurate) that amd will feature an Multicore power manager, wich will allow the cores to have different speeds.
If this is true it´s great news!!!! -
I'm not Mr Shark or Mr Lead, but I found some very nice info on MSI's dual core 14" line
From CeBit
and from MSI Japan..
http://www.msi-computer.co.jp/MEGABOOK/MS_1024.html
click there for a bigger pic and specs -
pretty cool info. Probably won't get them stateside anytime soon though. The 1022 is too 'new' and msi-usa probably wants to milk that a bit longer.
i'm definately interested in one though. MS-1024 or asus z35f. Two non-existent laptops that I can't chose between. -
hmm im a bit disappointed that the 1024 will end up using an x300SE.. not only is it slightly worse than the card in the previous model, it's not even the most recent low end card in ATi's current line up (the x1300 is). I was hoping they'd make something to compete well with Asus Z62j, A8, and W3
-
I can see that point of view. But I use my laptop purely for MS office and internet so the extra battery life out of lower end graphics is actually better for me. More of an analog for the z62f
-
any info on the MS-1024 coming to the US?
-
Don't know for certain but as it appears to be the 1022 replacement I am sure we will see it someday.
-
The 1024 specs aren't set in stone. But it will likely be a lighter graphics module intended for business/student, not gaming. It will keep the cost down, and there are plenty of MSI models for gaming. Not every system will be for heavy graphics use, as businesses don't need or want to pay for them.
-
But they should. Would probably help with morale if everyone was giving 45 mins or so a day to log into their favorite game ie CSS and blow off some steam.
-
there is definately a market for this type of machine. I value low: weight/heat/cost over gaming. Luckily I can wait till summer. If I was forced to buy a Pentium machine 2 months ago it would have probably have been a 1022 and i'm anxious to see the next iteration.
-
maybe they should, but if you're the boss and you're waiting for some product and you walk in and Pharoke is playing CSS screaming "boom headshot", i'm guessing you'd regret your purchase.
-
its been a while, but I was wondering if there are any updates on the MSI 1024 or any other 14" models MSI will be releasing for 2006
-
ROFL. Man, that made my day. Thanks
