    hello
Thinking on getting the ge75 raider with rtx 2080. Just wondering how much performance difference is it to a desktop 2080 or any loss in performance than thicker laptops with a full rtx 2080? Or how much higher it performs over the razer blade pro 17 inch 2019 with 2080 maxq. I heard that due to the good cooling in the razer, it performs almost the same as the ge75 with 2080.

You're question goes all over the map! You can't compare a laptop RTX 2080 with that of a desktop. Power is limited because of the form factor and lack of effective cooling. In the end, the GE75 is a thin laptop. Couple it with a 9980H and it will get warm. You haven't indicated where you plan to purchase or whether you will be repasting. @B0B has done a couple of video reviews of the GE75 from HIDEvolution. The models he looked at had liquid metal and the fujipoly thermal pads. He pushed the laptops and they never thermal throttled. Here are links to his videos:

Comparing a couple benchmarks (firestrike and timespy) mine was about 10% below a desktop 2080, and overclocked it was about the same (one was below and other above).
