    So this means we can only use OEM provided drivers for our GTX 970/980M?

    MSI don't use hybrid power, that is an nvidia technology from years ago.

    NVidia driver updates will work fine. That is not referring to MSI's 'Hybrid Power'.

    sooo just to clarify:

    can I use WHQL-nVidia-divers on the GT72 or do I have to wait for MSI to release new GPU drivers?

    Thats wrong, the GT72 accept only drivers from MSI. At this Time is the newest driver the 344.00.

    It takes time before Nvidia implements MSI's hardware ID into their driver release, usually about a quarter.

    NVIDIA_DEV.13D7 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M" and NVIDIA_DEV.13D8 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M"have been in the modified inf of laptopvideo2go.com 344.60 driver for about a week already. Just need to disable Driver Signature Enforcement when installing.
    And what about these in the Nvidia inf of 344.60 -
    seem very MSIish into my eyes:
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D7.1129.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D7.1131.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8.1102.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8.1103.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8.1125.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8.1128.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8.112D.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.13D8.1134.1462 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M "
    but don't have a GT72 to check the id.

    Nah, u can just download from the Nvidia's official site the latest driver and install it. I've had no problems.
