:( The touch sensors on my MSI GT685 laptop (touch buttons including Turbo boost, fan speed, wifi etc above the keyboard) stops working after I left the laptop in the box for 2 months, those sensors worked fine last time I used the computer...

I searched the forum and tried reinstalling SCM and reseting the embeded control following the suggestions, but had no luck.. I really don't want to mail it back to the service center, so I wonder if there are other ways for me to overclock the graphic card without using Turbo boost button (for example, using some CMD commands for SCM, or are those buttons hardware switches?)

Previously, if I want to overclock the graphic card to a higher percentage than the 5% default, I pressed the turbo button 1st, then used the MSI afterburner.

Without pressing the turbo button, MSI afterburner will only overclock the memory speed, but not the gpu and shader clock speed. I've already tried to unlock the unsupported mode in Afterburner by adding the confirmation parameters in EULR, but got no luck. Some one help me plz :( :(

Maybe I should flash the BIOS or something I dunno, it has a discrete MXM 3.0b graphic card, so I think with some proper BIOS tricks, I can even unlock the voltage control, but I really dunno how... I saw someone flashed their 580m and get a 675m for other laptop models, I wonder if I can also do that for my GT685 laptop...

Thx everyone for reading this. I found the problem, it's a loose connection between the touch sensor and the motherboard. I popped the hinge cover up and disconnected the touch sensor and motherboard cable and reconnected them, problem solved. Hope this will help others with the same problem.

    Greetings Jack !
I also acquired a MSI GT683DXR with loads of issues.I already got a faulty videoboad and spend something for the "global warranty" to fix this one.
But you just cleared something that bugged me for a 8 months already... problem is: much harder to send the notebook for maintenance from 7.000 miles.
My sensors launch out of the blue, and I have to shut the ones I can OFF, until the fan starts (this is when the touch sensor gets back to function.)
Some other times, they stop working as they were at the time (on or off); like right now the fan is ON (loud) and I can't get OFF... as the ECO light is ON (but it's OFF).
I really thank you for posting this !!!
People after resolving their problem sometimes forgets to post back.

Now the only minor issue is how to stop moving this spelling (blikning) icon. messing what I wrote.
when I am spelling, sometimes, this blinking thing jumps to where the mouse is located (and I ain't touching the pad with the thumb).

I already fixed one problem which was a blue screen from HD problem.
Having a SSD drive and the Intel RST (rapid store technology) uninstalled gives you problems running windows 7 (computer crashes and tries to recover unsuccessfully through a blue "scary-old-time's" screen).

    Thanks again
