I just stumbled on this FAQ answer on MSI's website
i have been putting off upgrading the RAM in the system because i am kinda scared of tampering with the MSI warranty sticker on the back cover.
this seems to indicate that upgrading the ram and removing the cover will not void my warranty...
    is this valid?

I've never had to send in anything to MSI so I don't know for sure. I simply removed my sticker, peeled off in one piece, if I ever have to send it in I was going to just put it back on. That may be harder to do if it's been on there a while? When new it peeled off super easy.

It can vary by region, in the us breaking the seal you take responsibility for any physical damage under the cover, but if you have a clear electrical failure you are covered.

I can only vouch for MSI Australia but I emailed them regarding this and was given the green light to open it up without voiding the warranty though if a fault is caused by my own doing then it is not covered by warranty.

I believe it would be like this for most regions as I'm sure MSI knows gamers like to care for their beast and going a year without cleaning the heatsinks/fan is just torture...
