I have a MSI-1762 with a GTX680M GPU. It's been working great since I got it. While playing a game the other day the entire system just shut off. I tried to turn it back on and the lights came on for a second and then went off. I've tried several things so far.

    1. Checked voltage on adapter. It's at 19.5.
    2. Removed battery and tried to power on with just AC. Lights blink on and then off.
    3. Disconnected AC and tried just the batter. Lights blink on and then off.
    4. Held power down for 10 seconds with no battery or AC, then plugged in AC. Lights blink on and then off.
    5. Pulled everything apart. Removed GPU. System boots into windows.

With that being said. Before I run out and buy a new video card is there anything else I can try. The failure was pretty sudden. How sure should I be that it is in fact the video card causing the problem?

I did look at the thermal past and it wasn't all that great.

Possibly a PSU issue, or motherboard.
Have you also tried the system without GPU inside?

Yes. If I remove the GPU the system will power on and load into windows fine. Everything works with the GPU removed.

Dead GPU indeed. If it is not booting with the dGPU inside, its most likely dead so you are better off buying a new GPU to replace it. Or send it to warranty if you have.

Darn. Just checked my warranty. I only have a 1-year with Gentech and I bought it almost 2 years ago. Does anyone know anywhere to pick up a new card for a decent price?
