It would be nice to know if this system be running cool !
The price seems very attractive but ?![]()
-
Does this mean xoticPC has actually tested the laptop? I want to see some benchmarks and temps... especially temps.
-
Huraaaaaaaay
Great price
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
No moneylololol, ima happy anhow.
-
Only 2gb of memory though. Quite weird. Adding two more makes it more expensive with regular pricing. However, general upgrades are way more economical overall; if you want to go with a 820qm, you ought to go with the Force rebrand for better pricing. Or just order the barebones.
If XoticPC wanted the price to make it look more attractive, they should have lowered the HDD capacity; not the RAM... 4gb RAM is a must for gaming running on a 64bit OS. -
besides to upgrade the cpu on this model the prices is very attractive -
I don't believe that 4gb nonsense, i rarely find my ram above 2
And ram is cheap anyway,
720qm is fine too and hdds are also cheap. -
Is this same as the MSI GX740? same barebone?
Thank you -
-

The only difference between the 2 is the HM vs PM chipset.
HM55 technically better as it can support more processors (i3 etc) and has some extra features.
No everyday usage difference in whichever you choose. -
Also curious about >>> MSI 1727 Keyboard
Date Added: Monday 05 April, 2010
Our Price: $75.00 what ever that could be ?? -
What overclocking hotkeys ? there's none on the GX740. and as far as i know , only the extreme i7 are overclockable.
EDIT: why don't you contact the reseller ? -
Keyboard / Pointing Device

There's no such thing , either you get in touch with MSI or contact xoticpc and see who's right.
The old Gseries had that useless crap ...
http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=135&cat2_no=271&prod_no=1999 -
-
Yeah , but so far no one has tried it , no concrete proof
-
Right, we need to get some unlucky sod then
. hahaha!
-
Need to convince someone down the Gx640 thread , but doubt they will be keen.
Man the good ol days are over .. kinda quiet in the MSI threads now -
In our section anyway :/ atleast until we do something stupid, or do the project freeze mod xD.
-
The only difference I see between the two are cosmetic.
Everything else is the same.
Barebones is the way to go if your into installing your own hardware
which I am! -
, still waiting for my delivery .. then we can kick start the whole thing.
-
Windows ®. I, no longer blocked. MSI recommends Windows operating system.

Pre-configured : black & red
barebones. : black & grey , with the ability to use your own components.
Go and do your homework.
And Stop with the 'overclocking hot key' in bold as there's none ... Is it that hard to digest ? Go and ask a reseller , there's many here on NBR. -
So when you getting yours D2W?
What specs? -
I will wait a bit as there's still plenty of life left in the GT725
Clevo is calling my name though ! , whichever i choose , it will definitely has an Extreme CPU in it
Hopefully by the time i'm ready , there will be a crossfire setup for the 58** That will seal the deal for me
How about you ? You seems to be in the hunt , anything yet ? -
I'm in the same boat.
MSI and CLEVO for me too bro!
Personaly I'm leaning to a W860CU/NP8690 like you want to get a Xtreme CPU but I got a little time to wait too.
Big thing I'm waiting for is the i7-940XM which I've heard might be out in a few months and should a little faster but at the same price as a i7-920XM.
But waiting sucks...I'm getting the itch to get one now.
My second choice would be the GX640, only cause it's cheaper but still has almost the same performance as the 5870( I'd guess about 10%-15% slower)
I will have me a new laptop, question is can I save enough money for what I want. -
Welcome to the club
The other thing i will consider is parts availability for upgrade (mainly GPU). How easy is it to get a GPU upgrade from sager/clevo ? As MSI won't sell any parts to customer ...
Hmmm 940xm , will it come in ES flavour ?
Don't forget , good things come to those who wait -
There are many resellers that will sell you parts( GPU,CPU,etc) RJTech is one of them and they have them just for CLEVO's.
So upgrading Is not a problem in that dept.
Lol.. As for ES 940XM, I'm sure when they are released we will see some for sale but don't you know it's illegal to have a ES CPU. -
Forgot about Rj , Eurocom is kinda pricey .. I'm 80% certain i will go clevo.
I know , check sig -
I like your style man!
That's one sweet setup, never knew you can OC a Q9200 so high. -
Thanks ! Can wait to get my hands on one of those Extreme i7s , should be fun
It depends on the chip. some managed to oc the Q9000 to 2.7/2.8 apparently ,pretty kool.
Msi FORCE 1727/ i7-720QM/ ATI Mobility Radeon? HD5870 1024MB /GDDR5 DX11 > $1356.33
