I am new to the forum, so hello all! I have been researching the GT725-75US model lately. Looking around today I found this new to be released model on Amazon.com, the MSI GT725-212US. It looks as if the only difference is the CPU. This new model will have the Q9000 Core 2 Quad core chip. What kind of performance difference will you see between the P9500 Core 2 Duo chip and the quad core? Will this have any advantages or disadvantages in a gaming laptop? And has anyone else seen any info on this model or possible release date? Thanks!

In general, a slower quad core like the Q9000 will perform poorer in most games except for those with full quad-core support, like GTA IV. I'm sure more quad-core optimized games will be coming in the future, but right now the P9500 is probably your best bet.

Thanks for the quick response! The GT725 seems like the best bang for the gaming buck right now. Anyone else have any suggestions. I am looking for a laptop that can play Oblivion with the effects on. Why play such a visual game if you can't enjoy the scenery, ya know? Don't want to break the bank just for portable fun.
