    Msi gt70 2pc-894us bd rom / cd drive issues

    My Blu Ray/CD Drive will now read a disk of any kind. I can see it in device manager and in my computer. When I put a disk in the drive spins and sounds like it is trying then it just stops. If I click on the icon for the BD ROM drive in my computer it ejects the tray and states that I need to insert a disk. I have tried music disks, blu ray disks CDR and CDRW disks and none of them are read.

    I have tried everything I could find so far. I have removed the drive. MSI has sent me a new drive. I uninstalled it in Device Manager, I have tried Microsoft FixIt programs, registry edits, that is all I can think of right now. Can someone please help me with my drive issue.

    Oh, BTW. I have an external Blu Ray writer that works just fine...

    The drive that isnt working correctly is a TSST corp DVDWBD SW-406AB

    MSI sent you a new drive and you have the same problem? Hmm...

    Are you able to boot from the drive (i.e does it work outside of the operating system)?
