Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this question has been asked before.
I'm the owner of a brand new GT75 laptop. The titan 8rg variant with the 8850H coffee lake processor with the GTX 1080. I have just noticed that the gsync option is missing from the Nvidia settings.
I have found similar threads with people facing the same problem with older laptops like the GT72 for example. Solutions to the same included updating the bios, vbios and/or MSI drivers.
I also read Phoenix suggesting that this was a known issue in the newer GT75 laptops. An update to the bios should sort this.
I am a little scared when fiddling with the bios. My question is, are there others who have faced this problem. How did you solve it? Is there a specific order in which I should try things like updating the bios, drivers etc. Will I need to reinstall all the drivers after a bios update (perhaps windows 10 too)?
Thanks in advance!

You only need to update the BIOS then reset your BIOS to AHCI or RAID depending o what setup you have now

Thanks for the reply! I'm travelling currently. I'll post in the results of the update

I had the same thing when I got mine. I just let windows do its thing updating and then updated the bios - that's all. After that the gsync worked (I ended up buying an external screen to use with it though so I don't really need it...). If you have a factory stock version like me and not custom build there is a good chance you will not need to go back to change any settings in the bios (I did not have to - all settings were the same). It's very very easy, just make sure you do not force shutdown at any single point. It is normal for the screen to go black for a minute or so (just leave it be and don't touch it no matter what). Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. The bios update worked and now I can see Gsync in the nVidia settings. I also didnt have to make any other changes to the BIOS after the update.
The only other issue I see is a stuck pixel on the screen. It's stuck on the color blue when the background is black. The pixel gets 'unstuck' on a white background. Any ideas about fixing this?Kevin@GenTechPC likes this. -

Stuck pixels are a pain, but I agree with what Falk recommended it is your best shot. I could never "unstick" a blue or green pixel, but if you massage it while you run a tester that cycles through colors you can at least get it to where it only does it on certain background colors. Mine would only show on pure black backgrounds.

Stuck pixel is still a defective pixel, if you just got the unit then see if you can exchange with your vendor, but if it's outside of return period then you will have to go through MSI directly, however under the circumstances that the symptom matches their rules.

If that doesn't work, I'll contact MSI directly. Anybody here from NL? Is there a MSI service center in NL?
Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated. -

I believe there's a MSI branch in NL but you may have to see if you can use global warranty over there by checking with them locally.

Which BIOS do I need? I just updated to E17A3IMS.10A and don't see G-sync options.

LOL, nevermind, I just had to open my laptop, because my external monitor doesn't support G-sync.
