i set up my 1722 and when i hit the power button it gets blue but screen is black, also the moon icon is blue, and the fan is running.

any ideas of what might be the cause, i also didn't setup an optical drive but i guess that's ok. i might not secure the mem or cpu properly, any ideas?

i got that cpu screw which not sure if it secure, and the memory pins seems not to go fully inside, i think that's alright too since mem is secure from the sides.

    any ideas plz.

the cpu screw has a dot on it..be sure that dot is pointing to the "closed" side.
it's marked just next to the cpu screw.

be sure there are no bent pins on the cpu. if there are your gonna have to use fine tweezers to put them back in original shape

also be sure that the RAM is seated properly (push in first then down)
because i had the problem first that it didn't recognize my second 2gigs

If that doesn't help try removing the battery, and locate a a wire with 2 smaller wires in it. That should be located just at the lower left of the cpu.
Remove that for now. Put the battery back in and turn it on.
It should do just the same as before. Now shut it back down and open it up again to put the wire back (of course remove battery first) :)

Try turning back on and let know how it went.

ok works fine, it was the mem i didn't pushed it far enough inside :) thanks.

will post back if i will have more problems.

i have a question though, is the cpu heat sink screws should be 100% inside or should i leave it a bit off?

    thanks again

I screwed mine totally in... though it's unlikely, but I don't want the heat sink
to separate from cpu during use and fry it.

there are no springs on them, there are 3 long metals connecting the 3 screws from 3 diffrent sides, all 3 metals lead to the center which is where the cpu is.
