Really disapointing, more when MSI showed in march a slide with the new MSI gaming laptops and there was the destroyer pro with m295x

Lets see how well the mobile Kaveri performs this time around compared to Richland with a dedicated GPU. If the bottle neck is still pretty bad, then, yup, overkill.

Say the CPU was 30% more powerful then the M290X gets to stretch its legs a little and it becomes a much more rounded machine.
It's still MXM so you can slap in a M295X later if it turns out you can now overclock the processor (I have no idea if you can or not but then you may be able to justify the GPU). -

I hope your right Meaker, would be nice to see the GX series become more balanced than the previous generations even if it is keeping with current GPUs. We'll just have to see once these get in the hands of gamers and benchmarkers.

GT72 is a huge leap over current GT70.
I really like the design, the mouse looks so much more professional, the entire front below the display looks like speakers, lots of aluminum, underneath the notebook you have a massive vent hole, the notebook have dual fan.
I like what I see and I`m curious to why MSI decide to wait until late this year or early next year to launch it. Is it to wait for Broadwell and Maxwell from Nvidia? Who knows, but I know that this got me interested in MSI notebooks once again -

Very likely the production of 17.3" IPS panels which has only happened recently.

Wish they release one for the 15 inch crowd
Finally, a beefier PSU and dual fans \m/ -
