    Tyvm :)

i have read i should only updare ec if the new gpu does not function correctly, i did update bios and driver though.

    Would you agree?

    tyvm again.

You should update both BIOS & EC because sometimes they are matched in some way which work the best together.

Agreed. Also, if it's a question of getting the dedicated GPU to work, system BIOS and vBIOS should be the focus, not the EC.

ok guys, i put the 870m in and it works fine, no modded drivers/ bios/ vbios req'd.

i can now play black ops 3 60 fps high settings.

it has 6gb ram but my system only see's and uses 3gb. is there a way of using the other 3?

    tyvm :)

What do you mean the system is only using 3GB of Vram? How are you judging that?

Both BIOS & EC update can be risky as they can all brick the machine, so it is not just EC alone.
According to MSI, sometimes their BIOS & EC release are matched therefore it's recommended to update both altogether.

You can use GPUZ to verify.
Do you also have the full model number of your system?

That's normal with stock, but if you want more then talk to Svet at MSI forum to unlock and gain more.

I'm trying to set up the audio backlight for my keyboard through steel series and I don't get any options on places to click and set a color. Does anyone have a solution?
