I would love to get a 9800m gs, and look at what I found on ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/Asus-MXM-Nvidia-Geforce-9800M-GS-512-mb-ram-video-card_W0QQitemZ250450044119QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Video_TV_Cards?hash=item3a4ffc64d7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1234|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
However, there are 2 things very wrong with the card...
First, the screw-holes are hopelessly misplaced
Second, Asus put the actual gpu-core on the other side to where it's supposed to be (if you would to install it in the msi notebook, the gpu will be facing downward instead of upward)

Yeah thats Asus design, the GPU's will only work in an Asus..
-
Why is this in the MSI forum?
Asus always used their own "proprietary" form for GPU's, so it is almost always impossible to upgrade Asus graphics cards. -

Because I am looking for a 9800m gs for my msi laptop.... That card is impossible to find. I can obtain pretty much everything else, like 9800m gts, but not the flipping 9800m gs.... -

actually it isnt that hard go to a reseller/trading website you should be able to find one.
-
Wouldn't an advanced mod allow the card to fit? You could try a copper sheet with custom drill points for the card to work, problem is if it will be too bulky after the final result.
-
Even if you somehow managed to get that card to physically fit, the card's VBIOS will absolutely make sure it will not work in anything else besides an ASUS G50Vt. Even some of their barebones that supposedly accepts the MXM standard have compatibility problems.

what websites would you suggest? I already e-mailed an official MSI notebook provider and they said they didn't have any spare ones...
One reason why I hate asus....
