Is there any difference between these two laptops? From what I can tell there isn't internally but from pictures I have seen the 1651 doesn't have the turbo button at the top and has a different power button then the GX620... is that the only difference?
Thanks.

From what I've read here, the GX620 is the notebook that MSI builds out as a full retail model, while the base MS-1651 is the barebones dumped on the various re-sellers. Not sure if there is any REAL diffrence though, although in the early 1651 thread I'm reading references to what I think if a too-good-to-be-true "turbo" switch for the GX620.
Event discounting that the aluminum alloy case is WAY better than the other barebone mfgs, although I'm a bit disappointed in pricing. e.g. Avadirect seems to have the best MS-1651 overall pricing, while I could pick up a WAY better equipped JFL90 (Sage 2096) from Cyberpower witht he only downfall being no option for WSXGA+ on the 2096, but gaining 4GB RAM, OS (Vista Home Prmeium), larger HD, etc for the price of avadirect's 1651. (I'm not even going to say similarly equipped as the best that I could do with their configurator was WSXGA+, 2GB, same cap drive, but minus OS no cash discount, etc.)
[EDIT]
So I'm researching actual owner post of gaming FPS results ATM as my final determinating factor as to which I order and from whom... (Even comparing the AVAdirect JFL90 to the cypower is a loser for AVA as they don't seem to be able to come even close to the cypower for what essentially amounts to the same notebook component/featurewise... Avadirect only wins on overall customizability...
The other guys here are just plain nuts, as they ad in a few hundred padding for "warranty" which IMO is useless unless it's unconditional, e.g.. accidental damage coverage... i.e. ignore thei moaning about their warrabnty coverage as the electronics will either fail almost right away or for the most part be covered by 3rd part OEM warranties anyways...

[EDIT2]
This site is teh ghey for URL posting.
Look at
forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=298383
add http (you know what, ghey site)to the front if a direct copy and patse doesn't work, anyways seems to be worth the extra 100 or so IF the real world benchmarks for gaming hold up.
Too bad that avadirect has the BEST component customization & options for MSI products while not offering "freebies" while entirely failing with compal products at least compared with similarly equipped cyberpower, etc. (lower spec CPU, less memory, smaller hd, no OS, etc. for equivalent price)

[EDIT3]
Did I mention teh gay URL posting restrictiojns fo rthis site yet?

The MS-1651 does actually have a turbo button, except it's not marked. You'll have to install the System Control Manager utility from here:
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=utility&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1529
Then the turbo button is to the right of the eco button (not marked on the MS-1651, but when pushed, the turbo function will be activated).
