I recently bought a european model gt780dx with a single 500 HDD. I have a spare 750 HDD so I decided to put them in raid 0. The problem is I don't really know how to do this. In bios I only have ide and ahci options. I understood I have to flash a new bios. My current bios is E1761IMS.10C. Which one should I flash?

    thanks

30h for raid but you should split in raid0 two the same hard drives (same models).

so the bios from this site is good ?
    MSI Global ? Notebook - GT780DX(GT780DXR)
It says "For Raid Systems use only". and mine is DX not DXR. Is it safe? Or do I need a modded bios?

edit: Oh, and mine is 10C not 10H.

A SATA III SSD is much better for boot drive performance than 2 mechanical drives in raid0.

    What you need for Raid0

Notebooks with the HM67 chipset and 2 drive bays can do raid if there's a bios option for it.

    What's needed:
2 drives=same capacity and speed is best.
    Intel RST=f6flpy version(11.0.0.1032)
    Raid bios
    Bios set to raid

Starting with 2 clean formated or new drives and bios set to raid(1761_30H)

While rebooting press CTRL + I to enter Raid setup.

Setup your array and reboot pressing the f11key and select to boot from the Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Installation Disk(USB or DVD).

Then you can follow these installation instructions.

honestly don't bother with the raid 0 thing! buy an SSD. I just bought intel 320 which is not the fastest SSD, but performed a lot better than dual blacks in raid 0

I know that but I need a lot of space as I watch a lot of movies, and I want to be able to extract a 1080p movie archive faster. If I buy a ssd and keep my movies on a 750hdd, no matter how fast the hdd, I will need to wait minutes for a 9-10-11 gB movie to extract. So, raid 0 is the best compromise for me. Also, I move tons of data often, to my 750 hdd. Dual 512 GB ssd in raid 0 is the best option for me, in the future.

@WhatsThePoint thanks for your explanation, I have succeeded. And thanks for your answers and help in the PM conversations we had, they were very helpful and made me take the best decision.
