    Reinstalled windows, Loading 1060 drivers v 399.8 and failes on Graphic Driver, what am i doing WRNG

    I did this last year no problem, i may be forgetting a step :) any help is good the lap top is the GT70 OCD and its 1060 (399.07)replacing a failed m860. worked fine in the old windows now i did a refresh but cant get it installed. Virus scanner is off, modded Nvii.cfg ,, win 8.1, clean istall, and then cleaned the videocard install with an App.

    must be missing a step. suggestions welcome

    Try installing the older set of drivers on the support page, thats what worked for me.

    Did you have to flash a custom vbios or a custom P170EM bios when you install the 1060 onto your P170EM?

    And yea @3dguy disable driver signature enforcement is the most important step if you had to mod the driver to install.

    P170EM has a prema bios, but i flash it much earlier, when I used 8970m. I did not flash any modified vbios on 1060vortex to make it work in EM series(driver modding is required).
    To get card working correctly in SM series it was required to flash a modded vbios on it.

    its been acting odd lately loosing the ability to even use the DISPLAY PORT and the loosing the VGA as an alternate... so i said ok lets start again... reinstall windows... put in fresh everything...cant even get to safe mode without a black screen and a mouse cursor only....... maybe its an order of operations . i d k but the main stumbling block is the intel 4600 drivers i'm using are the ones under the GT70 PC2 download page..... should i use the GT70 OCD intel driver the install of windows was fine until i used the intel drivers. cant even get to safe mode without a black screen and a mouse cursor only.....
