God your factory paste was a million times better than mine. My gpu was practically swimming.

It does run MUCH cooler now, thanks to the undervolt and repaste.

I want to love my GS75, but it is so damn hot on the lap and that is just browsing the net!

If I do a repaste, will it make it more bearable as a LAP top? Also, I have never done a repaste before. I am pretty technical, and have build a bunch of PC's. Does anyone have any instructions on doing this with a GS75 and what tools I would need (other then the usual screw driver and maybe some tweezers)?

Also, what paste would I use? Also, waht are the rules with applying the stuff?

    Thanks team GS75!!

So I recommend the screwdriver, a throw away cotton cloth, a higher percentage rubbing alcohol to remove any excess paste.

I personally like the Grizzly thermal Kryonaut paste best. There are a few different schools of thought on the actual paste application, On the CPU we typically do a line type application since they are a bit more rectangular shape, but with a GPU it is one spot in the middle of the chip.

Thanks for the advise. Do you have a picture of the apply by any chance?

I'll have to buy the thermal paste you recommended. Might do memory upgrade at same time. Might as well if I have mb out.

I wonder about thermal pads too. I'm too scared to repaste mine. I should have bought mine from Xotic PC like I did a few years ago and had them do it, but I was in a hurry this purchase. Went with a Best Buy model and just got a warranty.

Maybe they will still do it if you pay them? I wonder if anyone in AU does repasting.

It should not be hot if you're just browing the net
After doing my undervolts profiles, i can get it down to 40/44° max while browsing and watching Youtube videos fully silent.

You should not use it on the lap at all.. if you want to you will need a laptop cooler underneath it (does not need to be running but just to create breathable space). This is because the air intake is on the bottom so when you put it on the lap/blanket/anything soft, you will completely suffocate it which means nearly no cooling at all. That ofc means it'll run super hot and potentially overheat quickly.
