Pretty sure cooler boost is about the fan profile and settings and not the actual fan itself.

It's not impossible but it is difficult.
The fan is a very good fan used in the laptop, but the fan speed is managed by the EC firmware.
Updating the EC may allow quieter operation if the system is not doing anything intensive.
Also, change the thermal compound to IC diamond will allow even better heat transfer thus reducing the need to spin a faster fan speed often.

My friend i think gt 60/70 2012 notebooks is the same design and build as 60/70 2013 notebooks with enhanced things like the cooling and the noise and both are powerful machines
so the point if we just cold enhance something in our notebooks especially the noise ! :mask:

The cooler boost 2 is mostly about the extra heatpipe which helps idle temperatures more than load. They all fit the same chassis since the gt68x/660 series.

I think the only way to replace the existing cooling solution in your MSI GT60 to the one used in current models is to remove both your CPU and GPU heatsinks to be replaced by the single piece heatsink. Now where to actually obtain proposed heatsink is a whole different problem as I've had no joy finding one (or at least UK sellers). Would love to get lower idle temps as well :D

There is a person on here who can get the parts in europe, check out the members market.

It's not a single piece btw, the GPU heatsink's extended heatpipe connects via a pad so no need to get a different CPU cooler.
