You guys might remember me, I bought my GX740 nearly 2 months ago now...

The first one had a faulty Keyboard/screen, and I was able to get a replacement after waiting nearly 3 weeks, my new MSI laptop, had stuttering over all of my games/HD video due to Hardrive spikes...

MSI picked up my laptop and they 'fixed' it, compusar, the guys that fix it over in the UK changed the memory (?!) and reinstalled the operating system given the fact that I've sent them many screenshots of what the problem was..

so after many, many weeks, £1000, and alot of stress, I am back with a faulty GX740.. What pains me is the fact that this laptop is fine for using my design software, which I need as I have alot of work on at the moment...

If I wanted a laptop that would just do that I would have payed £300, not £1000

If MSI don't provide me with a replacement laptop, I am going to take this to a small claims court and report them to trading standards because this is completely unacceptable..

If anyone in the UK is thinking of buying a GX740, don't.

I would have to agree with this.

I bought one (I reside in Canada) and the keyboard fell off on the 5th week. I was forced to pay 60$ in shipping fees to send it to their repair facility and it took them weeks to fix it.

On top of that, the 45-1hr wait time to speak to someone is unacceptable. I had a guy pick up the phone, mute me, while he chewed some food, and then he placed me back at the START of the queue.

I've had much better experiences with HP and Asus. UPS dispatched the next day, 2-3 day fix time and then laptop is in my hands. Total time 5-6 business days. That's real service.

I will also chime in and say that MSI has serious after-sale support issues. I ordered a replacement fan/heatsink back in May. I got it last week. Next time I buy, won't be MSI. :D

Sometimes when I see a company take advantage of its customers and pulls crap like this, I wish I had political power to shut them down until they smartened up and fine them for massive amounts of $.
