I was really confused about this because I kept on hearing some people say it can only go up to 2 GB Max and other say it can go up to 4 GB.
Well, I went to ebay the other day and I asked a guy on there who is an authorized seller of the MSI GX600 a couple of questions and he answered me immediatley... Here is the reply that I got from him:
[ B]You've received an answer to your question about item MSI GX600 Turbo Laptop Nvidia 8600 GT 512mb 15" T7300[/B]

The GX600 and 163A currently cannot use 4GB of memory, neither machine will boot with anything but 1gb in each slot. The barebone is supposed to have future support for 4gb.
PS:
your seller has swiped the product specs from our website word for word for OUR pre-configured barebones and is using them for the msi pre-configured models. All his specs are completely wrong!!!! -
WoW.. If that's true, then it's illegal for him to sell it. I saw his feedback ratings and a few people have already bought the laptop from him. I was thinking of buying one from him myself, but since he's stolen all that information from your website, I'm not going to purchase it from him.
But, If I can purchase it from Rkcomputer, would you be able to install a 200 gb 7200 rpm hard drive for me? -

Yes the HDD can be upgraded on these models.......... -
Wait, why does the GX600 not work with 4GB memory? It should be supported by the chipset....
-

Yes the chipset supports it but currently the bios does not. -

The 163a now has 4GB memory support with a bios update and will support the T7800 Processor

That's great news.

It's a super laptop for under $2000. If I had configured this at dell it would cost near 2 times as much with these specifications. -
Where can I configure MSI notebooks?
-
You can configure them here.
http://www.rkcomputer.net/ -
What is the screen resolution? -
Since it's 15.4 inch WXGA, I'm guessing it's resolution is (1280x800).
-
Yes, its a WXGA, but thats no problem for me, anything more is too small for me. And its pretty sure im going to buy this one.
The MSI GX600 can go up to 4 GB RAM
