XotixPC just recently put up a new laptop called the Force 1656. Another new i7 laptop. Similar to the MSI GT628 but with an i7, slightly worse graphics card, etc. Basic rundown....

    Display:
    15.4 in.

    Processor:
    i7 720
    i7 820
    i7 920

    Memory:
    Up to 8GB DDR3

    Graphics Card:
    Nvidia GTS 250M 1GB DDR3

    Multimedia:
2 speakers, Mic, 2.0 MP Webcam

    Keyboard:
    Full, with Numpad

    Ports:
    1 VGA output Port
    1 HDMI output Port
    1 eSATA/USB Combo Port
    1 IEEE 1394 Firewire
    3 USB 2.0 Ports + 1 eSATA/USB Combo Port
4 Multi-Purpose Audio Ports - Line in, Mic in, Headphone out, S/PDIF
    1 RJ-45 LAN (10/100/1000Mbps)
    1 RJ-11 Modem
    1 S/PDIF output
    1 Express Card
    2 MiniCard Slot
    1 4-in-1 Card Reader MMC/MS/ MSP/SD

    Wireless:
    5100 or 5300 a/b/g/n

    Battery:
    6 cell
    9 cell

    Weight:
    6.2 lbs.

Looking pretty sweet, I hope they can keep this one cooler than the GT628 (since it has a weaker graphics card), which didn't get that hot I guess, but it would be nice if it was cooler. Keyboard looks like it has same layout as GT628, which is a bit cramped. But, still looking good.

Stronger CPU for weaker GPU. More of a downgrade if you're a gamer.

Too bad they didn't put GDDR5 in the 250M.

What do you mean by weaker GPU? This is definitely an upgrade from the Force 3551 (MSI GT628).

Not really, the GT628 has a GTS 160m with a 256 memory bus compared to the GTS 250m's 128 bus GDDR3, if the GTS 250m was GDDR5 it would be alot better.

I guess if it had GDDR5 it would be alot better, but it is still better than the GTS 160m, check out the benchmarks.

They'd be approximately equal if GDDR5 was used. I would still give it to the GTS 250M GDDR5 though due to refinements in manufacturing process, hence better OCing.
