My computer is the GT735 but this might be a problem that other people have experienced with other computers. For some reason at idle the computer will periodically access the hard drive for a second. About every 7 seconds the computers hard drive activity light will light up and my hard drive will have a click. Is there a setting in Windows 7 64bit that is doing this or possibly another program randomly accessing the drive. Has anyone ever heard of this?

A click? Does it sound like a dropping sectors click? If so your hard drive will be stuffed soon.

What does that sound like. It is a very quiet noise. I definitely cant hear it playing music or movies but if i am studying with the computer idling it can get annoying.

If you've ever pulled a hdd apart, and you grind the spindle on the disk purposely, it is like that sound, except very brief, i.e. only for a split second.
