Hello All,
I have a GT70 0ND 444US with a gtx675m that just died. I'd like to put a gtx680m in to replace it, unless someone has a better suggestion, but I'm not sure what I need. Looks like people suggest going with the MSI version over the 2gb ones, what about the heatsink, vbios, drivers, etc.? Anyone know what else I need? Thanks

You will need a heatsink that is compatible with GTX680 card. Did you purchase a MSI version of GTX680M? If yes, then you will not need a VGA BIOS.
Driver-wise, you can use the latest version from Visual Computing Leadership from NVIDIA without any issues.
If you aren't sure what 680M you are getting, then post its pictures on here. -
Thank you for responding. I haven't purchased one yet but it looks like the 2GB version, which I guess are from Alienware/Dell, are a little cheaper and there seem to be a lot more of them. Is there a downside to buying the 2GB version other than messing with vbios? Do you know if the gtx675m heatsink I have will fit the gtx680m, I've been looking everywhere and unable to find an answer. I had been looking at this one: Dell NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M Alienware M18XR2 M17XR4 Laptop Video Card 680M 2GB | eBay
Thanks again for your help. -

You shouldn't expect any downside going with 2GB version because VRAM helps only when gaming at high resolution over 1080p so you shouldn't be concerned.
What do I need to install a gtx680m in a GT70 with a gtx675m?
