**EDIT I GOT AN ANSWER FROM MSI.

I got my answer to this from MSI. Any SLI pascal device will require 2 power bricks/ac adapters.
Any single GPU configuration should be fine with 1 adapter.

    ** Original post
I am part of the MSI GT80S trade-in program, and as I travel more, I don't think 2 power bricks are going to be an option due to size / weight issues.

With the performance increase in 10xx, I think I can downsize my device. What is the fastest GPU I can go with and still maintain just a single power adapter? Does the 2nd AC Adapter only get tacked onto SLI rigs? I tried checking the MSI website and any information about multiple AC adapters wasn't easily searchable.

I would really love something the size of the GS63 Stealth, but I am not sure I can live with only the GTX 1060, already coming off Dual 980m SLI's.
