Hey guys, just want to hear your opinions on all the new GT (x25,x27), GX (x11?) and EX series.
These have the Nvidia and ATI counterparts in them, and I was wondering which are best in battery life. I don't mind a weaker gaming card at all, but if there is an option of MXM III later on when I replace the laptop as a desktop, that'd be great..

If amazon is to be believed(and I don't think it should) the GT627-218US would be the best in terms of battery life. According to amazon it will have a 9 cell battery.

So will the GT727 I believe.

Huh? You just replied to someone saying "GT727" with "Yes, so will the GT727".
My vote is for the GX733 or GX623 with the 4670 gpu, which should consume a less power than the 4850, and still be able to handle games. -

Those of use with the MS-1651 (GX620) and 6cell battery were getting around 2.5h (some slightly less) in light usage, and maximal power saving mode in my case with LCD at 50% or less of max brightness.
The 627 will likely get about the same or less if the Asus G50VT is any indication, as it was getting less than 2h but I don't recall what battery size they tested with(also some reviews noted very SLOW charging). Also with a 9cell battery it will be heavier, but not sure if enough to matter. The 1651(620) felt pretty light to me not including charger weight, but the G50VT is described as "heavy".
No idea about the ATI mobile GPU power usage. The 7xx series are all 17" screens too IF that matters to you. (It did to me, so I never really looked at them, as 15.4" is already pushing the size for a notebook to nearly unreasonableness.)
627-218US they weren't being generous, they're already foisting off a costly BluRay DVD in that model. If they had offered that model minus BR at c. $1200 that would've been nice. -
yes I was wondering about that. I'd really like to compare the wattage between the Nvidia GPU sets, and the ATI sets.
I think I am going with Intel chipsets, but if AMD turons are available, I'd pick that due to cheaper overall cost of the laptop, even though the nM would be higher on the AMD. -
There's a version of the 620 with a Turion x2 IIRC, the GX630... Might be one for the 627 as well, but I haven't heard about it.
No idea at all about the 7XX series.
(I decided to pay a little more for the Core arch for better performance. If you're dead set on going AMD to save a little money, might want to see if AMD coughs up a Phenom 2 based mobile CPU as they've apparently managed to up their performance somewhat.)
[EDIT]
Also forgot to mention that the 627 apparently uses the same exact chassis as the 620... likely the same mb (maybe revised) as well.

There's also a GX420 coming out 14", but I can't see if anyone knows for sure what GPU is in it sounds like it could be a 9600M GT or a 9700M GT or some Radeon.
Also there are, apparently, GX623 and EX625(16:9 ow sames as 623 both 15.4") coming out with Radeon 4670s. Still no clue how this will affect battery life, as I haven't really seen any results from people with similar models with one having an nVidia and the other a Radeon. Goin to be interesting to see how it pans out, and by the time I get my refund they might just out and I might just try out one of the 15.4" with the 4670 (wish that it were a 4850 though). -

im thinking a 4670 could fit that would be about the same as a 9700 gt a hell of an upgrade
-
I hit up some google searches, and some sites are reporting that it will still be a 9600m type card with 256 memory. However, they also said it would have a 16:9 screen.

Any links to the new gx420 (or is it gt420?)
