so, I'm curious about the GTX570M and which low~mid-range GPU is equivalent when the GPU is running on the battery (74mhz) so I can have an idea about which laptop is the least capable of running games these days?

I'd run 3dmark06 and compare it.

A rough and ready approach would be

    74mhz 336 shader, 24 rop
    296mhz 84 shader, 6 rop

So maybe half as fast as a GT520M?

On battery power the machine still beats my Sager NP5796 (with a Geforce 9800m GT).

I was able to aim in Rage whenever unplugged. It's not all that bad honestly, performance wise. You'd probably get pretty decent framerates when mobile in games like MMORPG's (like WoW) or any RTS's. Yet..

Personally I don't think that framerate is that important whenever you're mobile. --as you're likely just moving the machine to another room / outlet if you're gaming with a mouse. Playing a game pretty well demands being stationary as is (for input devices).

    Easy solution:

Run 3DMark Vantage, and the GPU score will allow us to quickly compare its power to lower-grade graphics cards.

why I always forget the good ideas :( anyway it's tested!

P1381 using 3Dmark vantage with CPU working @2.6Ghz

almost as powerfull as 9600M GT and GT220M (which is a rebranded 9600M GT)

Was 1381 specifically the graphics score or the overall score?

The graphics score is all that matters here.

Post a link to the results if you're confused.

Alright, well a GT 320M scores just over 1000, so that should give you a good gauge.
