May I just ask to people who owns GT683, does your battery provide the wrong information sometimes? I mean, if you put your cursor on the battery symbol at the lower right, it says how many hours you have left. Because I experienced that it was 95% and says 2 hours and xx minutes remaining then when it got down to 93% it says 3 hours and xx minutes and now, at 84% it says 2 hours xx minutes. Is my battery broken? I have tested it by timing it on stopwatch and it got around 3 hours++ but haven't tested it lately though. What do you guys think? Does it still perform well even though it gives false info? Are you guys experiencing this as well?

Thank you to anyone who would reply.

just dont trust this indicator. its a windows thing. Neither ur battery nor the indicator is broken. what it does is calculate the battery life with the current usage. try this: close everything and u will see x% with many hours. now open a movie and u will see the same x% with less hours.

forget the indicator and do a RL benchmark urself

Thank you for replying Flapo. Hmmm. That seems to be logical. How can I do the RL benchmark? Sorry for having less info about these benchmarks. Thanks again, appreciated your advice.

Btw, when I was plugging in the charger, it wasn't
charing so I tried taking out the battery and
then plugging it again. After doing that, it did worked again. It happened to me twice and I just bought my laptop recently, Dec. 27. Any insights about this? Thanks again

a real life benchmark is basically testing ur battery until it drains to determine its usefull battery life such as: movies from full charge to drain... internet browsing from full charge to drain.

aditionally i read an article (cant remember source) that it is a good paractice to drain these lithium battery completely atleasst once every week. so that may extend battery life aswell.

remember that the battery stops charging when nearing 100% and therefore may give u the message: not charging. this is normal. by taking the battery out u are resetting the battery meter and cause it to forcecharge but eventually the meter will sense full charge and stop chargin again. this is just security measures to protect battery.

also u should download HW monitor tool from cpuid to give u an idea of the full charge ur battery can do at well as its wear level.

Windows makes an educated guess based averaged at your current power consumption.

If you want a more accurate reading, use something like BatteryBar

I've read some articles about the battery that it is good to drain the battery every 30 cycles. Actually, it's one of the threads here in NBR. So when I try to charge the battery and and it doesn't charge, I'll take the battery out and then put it in again and then the charging works, I assume that this is normal, right?

I've already downloaded it before and my battery wear is already on 6%.

    Thanks again for replying. :D

same thing with battery bar! 2:50 at first but then suddenly goes to 3:31 and stays like this fir the first 25% of battery life!

I'd say mesure it yourself by using a stop watch (most cell phone have them) play a game or run a movie or benchmark and leave them until the battery dies!

Oh. I've tried it before and it lasted around 3 hours ++ but not sure about now though. Will try to run it soon when I have the time. Thanks for replying!
