    If that exact model is *NOT* on any current MSI laptop, you will either:

    1) get a black screen and no display output.
    2) get a screen but brightness controls won't work.

    The only person who can help you with this is SVET on the official MSI forums. He will need to add the EDID into the bios.

    I am thinking about getting the same screen for my GT72 6QD didn't know they also tied the EDID into the bios as well. Oh well looks like I am going to need to backup my bios via SPI at some stage before getting the screen.
