i have always been wondering where people get the parts and stuff to build these notebook cause i want to try it out.

only the chassis and motherboard (which together is considered barebones) are proprietary.
pretty much most of a notebook is very standard:
- CPU
- RAM
- HDD
- Optical Drive
- Wireless module
- Bluetooth module
- TV Tuner card
- even the LCD panel
In some high-end notebooks:
- the videocard modules
You can find notebook components (as listed above) from vendors like:
... etc...
for system barebones, start with:
The others are great though! -
^^^ newegg is great, ive bought thousands of dollars of equipment from them and NEVER had a problem.

Newegg is a god among websites.

As far as buying a barebone, I would recommend ebay if you don't mind it. I have gotten some excellent deals on many barebones from the bay. -
and atop of that, i know a guy who got a open box mouse from Newegg, the USB was cut in half, they would do nothing.
Atop of that, any company that says "well that other rep must have lied to you" is kinda not some one to give your business to (espacially after about $3,000 in purchases to them)...
Or my favorite quote "Can you read?" (i then followed up saying yes i can, and maybe she should check again and read over the link she gave me) -

agreed i have been buying from themfor a long time and i buy A LOT for me and my customers and i have never had a single issue. they even just replaced a sapphire 4830 that burned up 2 months later for me with not a single hassle and their wen site specifically stated 30 day non refundable only direct from them. this is a bit over 2 months old now and just died and they said sure we will take care of it without any question or hassle whatsoever they even PAID SHIPPING both ways i already recieved the new card and they even went as far to ship the replacement to me by 2 day ups air!!!. this is not the first time they went FAR ABOVE and beyond for me there have been a number of times.
i can not ever have enough good things to say about newegg, but i spend a few thousand a month with them so i cant say how they would be if you ordered a single item and had a issue but im positive it would be a great experience. -

Yeah, I agree with Z. I have bought probably close to 50-60k worth of gear from newegg over the last 4-5 yrs and they are my definite, "go to," place for family, friends and clients.
The few issues I had, they worked out nicely.
