Mine seems to work OK, although I'm only using G w/WEP ATM as I have several older devices that ONLY support 802.11b + WEP.

Also was able to use it with good signal 150' or so from my wireless router a couple of times last week(outside). (Router is a cheap D-Link 615... A/B/G/N)

I had an MS-1651(GX620) before with the 5300 Intel WiFi card and so far I can't tell the difference, but like I mentioned I only run G max because of older devices that I use. N May be an entirely different story...

wow that seems v good at 150ft. was the router inside your house?
there hav been many people complaining about the 5100 in the 725 forums though
i wonder if they actually tested or based their opinion on the chip only
a lot of the 725 owners seem to be too focused on benchmatks and specs imho

Yes the router sits in my living room next to two desktops & monitor.

Also the house is an older house with real plaaster walls and hence that chicken wirish kind of stuff that they used to build up the plaster on, hence metal.

Anyways, I suspect that I could go all the way out to the end of the yard and still have good signal at least for G. The case MAY be entirely different for N. Also those people complaining could just not have a very good wireless router or AP too... (It's rainy today, so I can't actually verify that I can hit the end of the yard...)

(Neighborhood is relatively crowded with wireless routers now too, as some days I can pick up 5 or 6 whereas as recently as a few years ago, I was the only one with a wireless router in detection range.)
