so as of one month ago my 4 months old laptop has been making this super anoying sound when under medium load even, i cannot use it like this in classes as it bothers the people around me. i've requested an RMA and rented a macbook for a month to have something to work with while it was getting repairs. after 2/3 weeks i got a mail from MSI telling me there is nothing wrong with the device and its working as intended. i figured it might have solved itself i told them if it is not making any obnoxious sounds they could send it back. after a 3 week turn around the laptop got delivered to me and as soon as i turn the thing on i hear the noise, i contact msi support and i tell them what's going on the same rep i have been talking to throughout the whole RMA tells ''thats impossible'' in a condescending tone. I am not an idiot, i know how a faulty fan sounds so i sent him the file i recorded via email, have yet to hear anything from them. Is there anywhere i can file a complaint against msi customer service? the last rma already cost me ~60 euros in renting a laptop at the rate its going it wil take another week before i can rma it again and 3 weeks before another turn around(if they even fix it.)

anyone have advice on how to deal with this? also tell me im not crazy and the sound is hella anoying and unnatural.

The authorized MSI reseller that you purchased the notebook from should be able to help you with the noise issue and dealing with MSI service.

I don't think it should sound that way, is that CPU or GPU fan? if GPU worst case you can switch to Intel graphics, although that defeats the purpose of buying a gaming laptop.
This might be a tentative solution, have you tried changing the fan table? see if different RPMs will attenuate that annoying sound.

I'm in the US and MSI customer support here is not that good either, I've sent them stuffs through email and phone call and didn't get back anything useful so far, you can try contacting your reseller or @MSIGeno, msi's rep here on NBR.

Sounds like a bad fan blade or the blade is rubbing against the housing itself. Suggest that you contact point of purchase for exchange, or just ask MSI to issue a RMA#.
    MSI cannot refuse warranty service.

Sorry that you are having issue with the laptop. That sound is definitely not normal. what country are you in? unfortunately i work for our US office, so i wont really be able to help with the RMA there. Like Kevin said, please contact where you purchased it from with the issue or ask the MSI in your location to issue you an RMA. They are required to fix it if there is an issue and that your laptop is still under warranty.

I think the previous 2 posts missed the main point completely, he already sent it back to MSI and MSI claimed there's nothing wrong, that's why I suggested solutions that would not require MSI's involvement. Sending it back to MSI for another RMA would not solve anything if MSI still can't see or in this case hear the problem. My point for referencing MSI's rep here on NBR is if he/she can somehow contact the MSI's office in Europe to explain the problem better.

MSI offices don't talk to each other directly. It's best to contact his respective local office directly to resolve any issues he had with them.
If the issue was not resolved in the first RMA, then it's recommended to record video or provide duplication procedures in order for RMA tech to see and perform proper repairs.

Just FYI, in the OP he's already done that, he's sent the video to the technician and didn't get any response.

At this point you may need to go through another MSI rep. Or, as others stated, get in touch with your reseller and have them help you, if possible. Going through your reseller may result in greater downtime, but you get twice the attention to the issue and, God willing, twice the quality control.

Yup, or you can also request for a supervisor to step in with your issues.

Just like Kevin said at GenTech, call back and ask to speak to a manager. Then put the phone close to the laptop and say, "What?!! I can't hear you over this!" and then stand up and calmly say, "yeah that is what my laptop sounds like, now will you please replace the cooling system?"

Also, Geno asked what country you are from, he might be able to point you in the right direction or maybe someone else from this forum is from your area and would know who the right person to complain at would be.
